The Legend Of The Pelican
In religious art the pelican has long been a symbol of self-sacrifice. According to legend, when a mother pelican cannot find food for her young, she thrusts her beak into her breast and nourishes her little ones
with her own blood. Read: Acts 20:17-27. NOTHING IS MORE PLEASING TO GOD THAN SELF-SACRIFICE.
