The Tasmanian Wolf
The Tasmanian wolf, or Tasmanian tiger as it was called in Australia, was neither a wolf nor a tiger. It was an animal that had a head like a wolf, a tail like a dog, stripes like a tiger and a pouch like a kangaroo. Scientists call it a thylacine.Once there were many of these animals on the island of Tasmania. But people hunted the thylacines because they sometimes killed sheep and chickens. It is believed that they are now extinct
