THE ADDAX

The home of the addax is in the barren, sandy wastes of the Sahara in Africa. Here, small herds led by an old male travel about searching for tough desert grass to eat. The addax can live in parts of the desert where not even a camel can stay alive. In fact, an addax can go for weeks, even months, without taking a drink. It gets all the water it needs from the plants it eats. Only a few thousand addax still live in the Sahara, and they are still being hunted.
