THE ASIAN ELEPHANT
Do you know how to tell an Asian elephant from an African elephant? You can tell them apart by the size of their ears. An African elephant has big floppy ears, and an Asian elephant's ears are much smaller. The Ceylon elephant is an Asian elephant. It lives on the island of Sri Lanka.,which used to be known as Ceylon. Ceylon elephants live mainly in thick, green forests. They spend most of their time just eating - leaves, grass, vines, the tender shoots of plants, and fruit. They love to wallow in mud holes and bathe in streams.
