Musical Card
An undertaker friend organized the funeral of a man who was to be buried on his birthday. To mark tha sad irony, the man's young grandson asked if he could put a card in the cofin. My friend happily agreed - not realising it was a musical card. As the cofin was carried through the church, the movement knocked the card of the departed's chest and triggered its mechanism. The service remained dignified, but its solemnity was somewhat undermined by a tinny voice singing 'Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you' from somewhere inside the coffin. (A Haskey)
